Wildfires don’t recognize the unique aspects of communities—but successful wildfire mitigation efforts do. Those working in the field have long known that to effectively mitigate against wildfire, efforts must be tailored to landscapes and communities. To do this, the Wildfire Research (WiRē) model unites research and practice to collect community-specific data that support local solutions to wildfire issues.
Join us on April 14 in the next Making Mitigation Work webinar, The Quiet Majority: Understanding Communities to Make Mitigation Work as WiRē team members Chris Barth and Hannah Brenkert-Smith discuss lessons learned from the collaboration.
The webinar is the sixth in the Making Mitigation Work webinar series, which is presented in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The free webinars feature innovative speakers and highlight recent progress in mitigation policy, practice, and research.
Space for this webinar is limited, so please register using this online form. If you’re unable to attend or miss an installment, recordings of past events are available on the series web page.
