Webinar Description
This session will explore the critical role of science communication in advancing oil spill research and ensuring that data and findings inform decision-making. Speakers will discuss best practices for data management, sharing, publication, and research coordination, including strategies for making research products accessible, fostering collaboration across the academic community, and reducing duplication during and after spill events. In addition, speakers will share insights on engaging key stakeholders—including affected communities, responders, policymakers, and industry partners—and communicating research findings in ways that support preparedness, response, and recovery. Together, the speakers will highlight the importance of effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing in maximizing the impact of oil spill research. The session will conclude with an extended Q&A and discussion.
