Tue. 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Centennial E
The way in which disaster planning scenarios are created affects their use. Scenarios are used by a variety of disciplines to prepare for multiple types of hazards. Outcomes serve an array of purposes, including improving public outreach and risk communication, informing retrofit ordinances and evacuation plans, and planning to allocate resources and ready supplies. This session will explore different approaches to creating scenarios and implementing results, as well as focus on how scenarios can identify interdependencies and cascading consequences, enable conversations, and build community buy-in.
