Eligibility

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be pre-tenure, early career assistant professors at U.S. institutions, including in Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories
  • Applicants must have begun their current assistant professor position as of, or after, July 2016.
  • Applicants must be tenure-track, but without tenure, at the time of the application.
  • Applicants must be interested in developing research capacity in natural, technological, and/or willful human-made hazards, risks, and disasters.
  • Applicants are welcome from any relevant field within the social and behavioral sciences, engineering, urban planning, public health, natural and physical sciences, or interdisciplinary programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applications from faculty that have demonstrated a commitment to engaging students in research training are preferred.
  • Applications from members of underrepresented groups in the hazards and disaster field—including women and racial and ethnic minorities—are strongly encouraged to apply.
