Eligibility

Requirements:

• Applicants must be pre-tenure, early career assistant professors, or postdoctoral researchers / research faculty at U.S. institutions, including in Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories
• Applicants must have begun their current position within 3 years of application, exclusive of time spent on personal leave (such as Family and Medical Leave).
• Applicants must be interested in developing research capacity in natural, technological, and/or human-made hazards, risks, and disasters.
• Applicants are welcome from any relevant field within the social and behavioral sciences, engineering, urban planning, public health, natural and physical sciences, or interdisciplinary programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Applicants committed to broadening participation in hazard and disaster research or practice are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Preference will be given to those interested in developing CAREER proposals.
