Program Expectations

The following are the expectations of the selected Fellows:

• Full attendance at two in-person Enabling workshops:
  • May 19, 2026 - May 22, 2026 at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL,
  • Mid-June, 2027 in conjunction with the Natural Hazards Workshop.
• Active engagement in mentoring activities during workshops and between workshops. In between workshop activities include webinars and mentor-mentee bi-monthly virtual meetings.
• Support peer fellows in their research pursuits.
• Commitment to conduct hazards, risks, and disasters research following the completion of the program.
• Develop a research project, such as a National Science Foundation proposal, or a publication of a peer-reviewed article, in final product form that is submitted as part of the program.
• Meet obligations with a high degree of enthusiasm and commitment.
