Plenary: The National Flood Insurance Program: Issues and Directions

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), which will be reauthorized in 2017, was significantly transformed by reforms in 2012 and 2014. Although those recent changes have yet to be fully implemented, however, other potential revisions are emerging as priorities to be included in the 2017 reauthorization. This session will discuss the current state of the NFIP, future options for improvement, and the long-term implications of proposed changes.
