No Code, No Confidence: Creating Public Awareness of the Power of Building Codes

Wed. 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Centennial F

Many communities still lack the residential building codes necessary to confront natural hazards, but the No Code, No Confidence project is working to tackle this persistent challenge by improving building code adoption. This research-driven initiative—which is supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Weather Channel, and many other organizations—features public outreach, public service announcements, and social media campaigns for InspectToProtect.org—a new website that provides the status of residential building codes in an easy-to-understand format.
