Communities need a clear view of reality if they are to have hope for disaster resilient policies, infrastructure, and institutions. Resilience indicators can provide clarity and help highlight the direction needed to ensure all members of a community are adequately represented in disaster planning. This session will feature several federal efforts to provide information that will allow local governments to transform policies, reduce hazard losses, and build resilience.
