Brenna Sweetman is a social scientist with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office for Coastal Management in Silver Spring, Maryland. Her work applies social science to help solve complex flood risk management and risk communication challenges. In this role, she strives to better understand data, tool, and information needs from coastal communities to reduce vulnerability. Her background is in environmental management in Central America and holds a master’s in geography from the University of Alabama and a bachelor's in environmental studies and Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh.
