Tamar Wyte-Lake is the associate director of clinical research at the Veterans Emergency Management Evaluation Center (VEMEC). Wyte-Lake brings a unique clinical lens, having practiced as a physical therapist for ten years in multiple settings, including the home healthcare sector. In 2008, Wyte-Lake shifted her focus to research, and as the associate director of clinical research at VEMEC, she supports a sustained focus on clinical activities throughout VEMEC’s research portfolio. Wyte-Lake’s research experience centers on supporting the disaster preparedness for vulnerable populations. She maintains a focus on the development of tools and resources to support their disaster preparedness activities and has had the opportunity to develop resources that have been adopted nationwide to support the disaster preparedness of home-based primary care and related populations. Wyte-Lake has experience in a range of qualitative methods and is skilled in leading qualitative and mixed methods teams in data collection, management, and analysis. She has a Doctor of Physical Therapy (University of Southern California) and a Master of Public Health (University of California, Los Angeles at the School of Public Health).
