Professional Pathways in the Hazards and Disaster Field

As disasters increase in frequency and intensity, the need for skilled mitigation professionals has never been greater. However, students and early career professionals often struggle to identify clear pathways into this dynamic and evolving field. This roundtable seeks to bridge that gap by fostering conversation between those interested in such a career with a group of experienced professionals from academia, local government, and private sector firms. Attendees will discuss emergent needs in the field, exchange career advice, and build interdisciplinary and intergenerational connections.
