Location: Interlocken A

Alerts and warnings are a vital resource in every risk communicator’s toolkit. An effective warning will be understood, believed, and personalized, leading to increased organizational trust. Ineffective warnings may delay protective actions and lead to other undesirable outcomes. In this session, attendees will learn about the newest social science research informing alerts and warnings and use the evidence-based Message Design Dashboard, to write messages in response to hazard scenarios.
