Training Session: Gamifying Wildfire Resilience

Sunday, July 13, 2:00 to 3:15 p.m. MDT
Location: Interlocken C

Scenario-based role-play games are an excellent tool to engage communities with planning for, responding to, and recovering from natural hazards. This training session will teach attendees to play the Wildfire Resilience Game, which was developed for middle and high school classrooms after the 2021 Marshall Fire in Colorado. The game introduces complex community response to hazards and challenges participants to consider the roles they can play in hazard response. Attendees will learn about how this and other games can infuse competitive elements and fun into hazard education and disaster preparedness.
