All students are encouraged to attend this orientation and take advantage of the opportunity to meet each other. Discussion will focus on research opportunities, professional development, and networking with a specific focus on how to identify and make the most of publication opportunities. Frannie Edwards, a social and behavioral science editor for the Natural Hazards Review, will join this session to provide information about the journal and answer questions about the publication process. After the orientation, all students are invited to join the special session on the Mt. Kīlauea eruption.
