Workshop Student Volunteer Program
Application Deadline: March 9, 2019

Each year, the Natural Hazards Center is honored to have the assistance of a variety of bright and enthusiastic students in helping make sure the Workshop runs smoothly. The benefits of volunteering include free workshop registration and meals and the opportunity to network with some of the most respected professionals in the field. Lodging and transportation are the responsibility of attendees.

Mary Fran Myers Scholarship
Application Deadline: March 15, 2019

The Mary Fran Myers Scholarship recognizes outstanding individuals who share Myers' commitment to disaster research and practice and have the potential to make a lasting contribution to reducing disaster vulnerability. At least one scholarship recipient each year will receive financial support allowing them to attend the Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop. Scholarships can cover part or all of transportation, meals, and Workshop registration costs.

Natural Hazards Center Student Paper Competition
Submission Deadline: May 1, 2019

The annual Student Paper Competition is a way to recognize students focused on hazards and disaster research. Papers are judged on originality, organization, and knowledge of the topic. One undergraduate and one graduate winner each will receive $100, publication on the Natural Hazards Center website, and free registration for the Annual Natural Hazards Research and Applications Workshop in Broomfield, Colorado.
