Mentoring New Professionals: Bill Anderson Fund and Knauss Sea Grant Fellowship
Monday, July 12, 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT
Mentoring new professionals is critical for building a workforce that is empowered to face upcoming challenges in the hazards and disasters field. This session highlights two such programs—The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship and the Bill Anderson fund. The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship provides educational and professional experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes resources and the national policy decisions that affect them. The Bill Anderson Fund Mentoring Program works to build a racially diverse disaster workforce by supporting historically underrepresented students in the hazards field. Panelists will discuss their programs and the experiences of fellows in each organization.
