Researchers Meeting Acknowledgements
The Natural Hazards Center and CONVERGE teams and the leadership of the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Disasters (ISA-RC39) are so pleased to have the opportunity to convene the 2021 Researchers Meeting. We are grateful that you plan to join us virtually again this year.
The Natural Hazards Center, CONVERGE, and the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Disasters wish to offer special thanks to the following people and organizations.
Sara Hamideh and Sabine Loos who served as chair and co-chair of the Researchers Meeting Organizing Committee. Their intelligence and insight has informed every aspect of the planning for this meeting. The other dedicated members of the Organizing Committee—Kyle Breen, Emily Laidlaw, Yolanda Lin, Alyssa Provencio, Olivia Vila, and Xilei Zhao—carefully read and edited every abstract and helped to assemble an intellectually rigorous and topically diverse final program.
Bill Lovekamp, president of the International Sociological Association Research Committee on Disasters, has long supported this meeting. We are grateful for his guidance.
The program directors from the National Science Foundation who are instrumental in supporting science, engineering, and interdisciplinary research efforts in hazards and disasters. We are so grateful that they recognize the value in bringing together researchers to share our recent findings and to push the field forward.
The 2021 Researchers Meeting is made possible with funding support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Division of Civil, Mechanical, and Manufacturing Innovation (CMMI) (Award #1841338 and Award #1635593). Any opinions, findings, conclusions, or recommendations expressed in this meeting are those of the participants and do not necessarily reflect the views of the NSF.
