Shefali Juneja Lakhina is the co-founder of Wonder Labs, a climate justice-focused think-and-do-tank based in California. Through the Reimagining 2025: Living with Fire Program's Design Challenge, Juneja Lakhina currently leads Wonder Labs’ efforts to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire impacts on marginalized populations in caring, equitable, and just ways. Since 2005, she has worked with a range of United Nations agencies to deliver innovations in disaster resilience policy, programs, and research across South Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, South-East Europe, Australia, and the United States. Shefali holds a PhD in human geography from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Her doctoral research received a high commendation from the New South Wales Office of Emergency Services for contributions to understanding how people from diverse refugee and migrant backgrounds practice safety from natural hazards in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia.
