Workshop Call for Ideas

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Natural Hazards Workshop planning process. We are accepting session ideas and presentation abstracts until February 15, 2023.

Please read the 2023 theme statement  before submitting. We are seeking contributions that speak to this year’s theme as well as submissions that highlight recent advancements in hazards and disaster research, practice, and policy.

If you are new to the Workshop or need a refresher, please see the Workshop details page before you begin.

Submission Process

To contribute to Workshop planning, you must agree to the following requirements:

If my idea is accepted, I agree to pay for all Workshop expenses including travel to Colorado and registration fees.
If I am assigned a role on the program, I agree to register for the Workshop NO LATER than May 1, 2023. I understand that if I do not register by the deadline my name and contribution may be removed from the program.
If my idea is selected, I agree to attend the Workshop in person and understand that due to cost constraints, there will not be an option to join a panel virtually.

Please note that this form is for Workshop session ideas and participant presentation abstracts only. However, there are many other ways to participate in the Workshop. Please also consider:

• Submitting a poster for presentation on Sunday or Monday evening

• Sharing a Research and Practice Highlight for publication on the Natural Hazards Center website

• Applying for one of the awards or opportunities to participate
