Wednesday, July 13, 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MDT
This plenary session explores how community-centered coalitions are reducing risk while also enhancing care–collaboration, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment–in places increasingly affected by wildfire. Drawing on Wonder Labs’ Reimagining 2025: Living with Fire Design Challenge methodology, the session will feature fire practitioners who have learned with communities as they worked to promote resilience to wildfires and related hazards, such as drought, smoke, and debris flow. These partnerships have resulted in novel visioning practices that are helping to advance broader environmental and climate justice goals.
If you are working to reimagine caring, just, and equitable futures in a fiery world, you are invited to share a case study in advance of this session. The case studies submitted will inform the conversation during this closing plenary session, so please submit by Thursday, June 30.
