Workshop Book Clubs

Book Club Submission is Now Closed!

This year’s Natural Hazards Workshop will feature three concurrent Book Forums on Monday, July 11, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. MDT. These forums will offer an opportunity for attendees to interact with the author of each book, hear from experts on related hazards and disasters, and engage with one another.

To encourage our Workshop participants to read one or more of the books with their colleagues or friends, we offered a special opportunity for those who form their own Workshop Book Club. The first 50 groups of three or more people that contacted us received one free individual registration to the 47th Annual Natural Hazards Workshop.

The three books that will be highlighted at this year’s Workshop are:

Underwater: Loss, Flood Insurance, and the Moral Economy of Climate Change in the United States
by Rebecca Elliott

Tales from an Uncertain World: What Other Assorted Disasters Can Teach Us About Climate Change
by L. S. Gardiner

Disasterology: Dispatches from the Frontlines of the Climate Crisis
by Samantha Montano

Please click on the links above for more information about each book and for ordering information from the publishers.

If you have questions, please contact us at hazards.workshop@colorado.edu.

Happy reading to one and all!
