Submission Guidelines

We are accepting submissions for two categories—Research and Practice Highlights and the Poster Session. Please read the descriptions below and submit to the appropriate category using the form link.

Guidelines for both categories are as follows:

Poster abstracts and research and practice highlights must be received by March 1, 2022, be 250 words or less, and include a separate listing of title, author/co-authors, and affiliations. Information should be entered exactly as you would like it to appear online and in the print program. In all cases, you will receive email confirmation that your submission was received.

Please review the abstract formatting guidelines before submitting your Poster Abstract or Research and Practice Highlight. Improperly formatted abstracts will not be accepted.

Research and Practice Highlights

Do you have something new that you want to share with members of the hazards and disaster community?

Research and Practice Highlights are all about shining a bright light on new projects, programs, initiatives, local/state/national policies, and noteworthy publications.

Highlights are brief descriptions of your work or current projects. They are not for presenting at the Workshop, but rather, they will be posted online and in the printed Workshop program for attendees to read. This outlet allows all participants the opportunity to share what they are doing and to maximize networking potential.

You will receive email confirmation that your submission was received.

Poster Session Abstracts

Are you interested in presenting a professional poster detailing your recent program, project, research, or other initiative?

Poster Session participants will be assigned a 4x4-foot vertical space to display a professionally formatted and printed poster highlighting recent work.

We will review your abstract and let you know if your poster is selected by March 15, 2022. To display a poster, at least one author must be available to present the poster on Sunday and/or Monday evening of the Workshop. Abstracts for accepted poster submissions will be published online and in the print Workshop program.
