Effectively communicating science to the broader public has important implications for hazards and disaster research and practice. This training session will break down the elements of storytelling for effective science communication and share best practices for using video as a communication tool. Facilitators will highlight lessons learned from interviews with public scholars, systematic reviews, and data analysis. The interactive session will provide opportunities for practice and allow time for networking and reflection.
