Austin Snowbarger works at the intersection of philanthropy, disaster and humanitarian action. At the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP), Snowbarger focuses on strategy and organizational learning, including research, evaluation and knowledge dissemination.
Prior to joining CDP, Snowbarger supported grantmaking and led learning and evaluation at NextFifty Initiative; a private foundation focused on improving the lives of older adults. Snowbarger’s disaster-related experience includes managing a shelter recovery project for a non-government organization in Haiti following Hurricane Matthew and contributing to research outputs for the Age and Disability Capacity Programme that aimed to ensure older adults and people with disabilities are included during emergency responses.
Snowbarger holds a master’s degree in development and emergency practice from Oxford Brookes University in England. His master’s specialization was in disasters, risks and shelter, and primary research included capacity development for disaster risk reduction and resilience in the Philippines.
