Femke Mulder is a researcher in the field of disaster and humanitarian studies, focusing on localization and community participation in humanitarian, disaster, and development contexts. With a background in organization and management science, her interest lies in exploring if and how government agencies and non-governmental organizations collaborate with local communities to address complex challenges. Mulder has over 15 years of experience in program management, strategy, and policy research for academic institutions, government, and global non-government organizations. She currently works as a senior research fellow at University College London, United Kingdom. To date, she has worked on earthquakes, multi-hazards, conflict, climate-related hazards, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
