When linked in mass notifications, HazAdapt empowered 10x the protective actions in the public. HazAdapt was recognized by the International Association of Emergency Managers as the 2022 Technology and Innovation of the Year. A notable case study with Oregon State University during the January 2024 winter storms highlighted HazAdapt supported significant improvements in community preparedness and “just-in-time resilience."

As a public interest technologist, Katz advocates for ethical innovation bridging the gap between emergency management and public engagement. HazAdapt’s commitment to humanity-friendly technology standard ensures products that are humane, inclusive, equitable, and community-centered.
