Leah De Hoet supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Individual and Community Preparedness Division (ICPD) which connects individuals, organizations, and communities with the information they need to plan and prepare for disasters and emergencies. She manages the Protective Actions Research program and Evaluation portfolio, assessing ICPD’s programs and products in order to measure and improve outcomes related to preparedness outreach and education for the American public.
De Hoet has more than a decade of field and management experience in monitoring and evaluation, education, and community development in conflict-affected countries, including previous roles as a Peace Corps volunteer, Boren fellow, and Gender and Research associate for the United Nations Development Programme in Amman, Jordan. She holds a master’s in international development with a concentration in human security from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor’s of Science in international business from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
