Megan Nibley joined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Devlopment's (HUD) Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) in October 2016 as a Presidential Management fellow. In her current role as a program analyst in the Program Standards and Compliance Division, Nibley conducts nation-wide front-end civil rights reviews and provides guidance, education, and training on fair housing and equity to HUD-funded programs, stakeholders, and regional FHEO staff. She specializes in disaster recovery and environmental justice issues, including Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery and Mitigation funding and HUD's Justice40 initiatives.
She previously served as an equal opportunity specialist, investigating discrimination complaints, ensuring compliance with civil rights laws, and managing federal grants and contracts. Before joining HUD, she was a child and family therapist in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia.
Nibley earned a bachelor’s degree in cultural anthropology from James Madison University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.
