Musabber Ali Chisty is a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology and a Graduate Research Assistant in the Natural Hazards Center at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on the intersection of sociological and environmental dimensions of disasters, with particular attention to migrants, minorities, and other vulnerable populations in relation to disaster preparedness and resilience. While he employs both quantitative and qualitative research methods, his primary methodological interest lies in computational social science modeling to address critical theoretical questions in disaster risk reduction. His future research agenda centers on anthropogenic climate change adaptation strategies and human–environment interactions. Back in Bangladesh, Musabber is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka.
