Shannon McLachlan, a regional coordinator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Community Assistance Recovery Support Function in region 2, has served in a variety of advisory or leadership roles on disasters in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Hawaii. She has established novel mechanisms for partnerships with agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and other organizations. Through these organizations, the federal government has delivered sustainability advisement, recovery design seminars, a land use planning guide, peer exchanges, and other tailored recovery support tools. She is a contributor to Green Readiness, Response, and Recovery: a Collaborative Synthesis (U.S. Department of Agriculture, 2019).
