Szymon Parzniewski is a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Social Work at Dalhousie University. Most recently he worked as research associate for the Economic and Social Research Council-funded project called Recovery, Renewal, Resilience from COVID-19 at the University of Manchester, He received his PhD in international studies from the University of Birmingham in 2021. His doctoral dissertation focused on the role of migration and diversity in building disaster resilience locally in the United Kingdom and Japan. His principal research interests lie in the field of interdisciplinary social sciences, specifically social geographies of mobility, diversity and agency in building resilience to crises and disasters.
