Teye Yevuyibor is a fourth-year doctoral candidate and environmental sociologist at Louisiana State University. His research focuses on the intersection of climate change, natural disasters, and social justice. He uses qualitative research approaches to explore how the disproportionate flood-related disasters impact marginalized communities and how policy can mitigate these effects. His research emphasizes the application of environmental justice to understand the sociodemographic factors influencing vulnerability and resilience to natural disasters. With a keen interest in attribution science, in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, he examines the links between climate change and extreme weather events, providing empirical evidence to support policy and litigation efforts aimed at addressing climate-related damages in south Louisiana.
