Community-Based Research: The Public Health Disaster Research Award Program
Wednesday, July 16, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. MDT
Location: Pine
Public health and social science research are essential to disaster preparedness, effective response, and rapid recovery. To provide actionable recommendations for public health interventions across the disaster cycle, the Natural Hazard Center—with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Science Foundation—created the Public Health Disaster Research Award Program. This program has funded researchers working in the U.S. territories, tribal regions, and rural communities who are seeking to enhance the impact of public health research. This session will feature key findings and success stories from researchers whose work has improved public health practice and community resilience.
