Building Resilient, Practice-Ready Disaster Medicine Programs
Training Session
Sunday, June 14, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MDT
Location: TBD
The new Diploma in Climate Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is a flexible learning program designed to strengthen the role of doctors and other medical professionals across disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. The curriculum draws on climate adaptation principles, environmental justice, and incident command system practice to prepare clinicians for disasters. Attendees will learn more about the program as a model for resilient, practice-ready disaster medicine programs and participate in an activity to determine how they might integrate healthcare clinicians in their own disaster planning exercises.
