Safer, Stronger, Smarter: A Guidebook for Improving School Natural Hazards Safety

Wed. 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., Interlocken B

Ensuring schools are safe from natural hazards is a continuing concern for the entire community. This session features a new guidebook from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that can help schools develop a comprehensive strategy for addressing natural hazards. While the guide was written for school administrators and teachers, emergency managers, and others with a responsibility for K-12 schools, parents, caregivers, and students can also use it to advocate for safer buildings, emergency preparedness, and recovery planning in their communities.
