Hope for Economically Sustainable Mitigation and Recovery
Tue. 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. MDT
Disasters are economically destructive events. Buildings and infrastructure are damaged and costly to repair, businesses are forced to close and lose revenue, and employees often find themselves without paychecks to support their own recovery. These realities have inspired government agencies, nonprofits, the private sector, and academics to work together to find solutions to reduce the economic burdens of extreme events and improve opportunities for better recovery. This session will highlight programs and approaches that are dedicated to reducing disaster losses and speeding the recovery process.
