Our built environment can exacerbate and deepen social inequalities. In an era of climate extremes, these injustices are even more prevalent. Panelists in this session will discuss ongoing projects, research, and plans that work to transform the built environment with equity and justice in mind. By creating participatory building practices, employing nature-based mitigation solutions, and creating adaptive infrastructure, we can build places that are both socially and disaster resilient.
