Amy Schnall is an epidemiologist on the disaster epidemiology and response team with the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She received a bachelor's degree magna cum laude in sociology and African American studies from Princeton University and went on to study behavioral science and health education at Emory University where she received her master's of public health. Schnall also earned a certificate in field epidemiology from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina. Since joining NCEH in 2008, Schnall has worked as the project coordinator for the disaster epidemiology community of practice and leads the NCEH disaster epidemiology training and community assessment for public health emergency response programs. Schnall has been involved in numerous disaster response activities including leading the Emergency Operations Center's Epidemic Intelligence Service and Surveillance task force as well as several field deployments, both domestic and international. Schnall's previous experience was in adolescent health including nutrition/body image, sexual behavior, youth development, and academic achievement.
