Karen Bailey—an assistant professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder—is a systems researcher interested in understanding how human-environment interactions impact human health, well-being, and natural resources. Her work is focused on conservation landscapes and climate-vulnerable communities in rural landscapes worldwide, with a particular focus on southern and East Africa. In addition, she is interested in sustainable livelihoods, wildlife conservation, global change, and coupled human-nature systems. She further emphasizes justice and equity in climate adaptation, natural resource management, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in conservation and related fields.
