Katie Pugh

Katie Pugh is an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education fellow at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in the Office of Readiness and Response. Pugh assists in coordinating the at-risk task force and the Access and Functional Needs in Public Health Emergencies Community of Practice. During her time at CDC, Pugh has worked on several emergency responses including the 2021-2023 hurricanes, COVID-19, Mpox, and the nuclear/radiation training exercise program. Prior to joining CDC, Pugh worked in the nonprofit sector helping refugees gain access to health care, employment, childcare, and physical and mental health education. Pugh received a master’s of public health as well as a master’s of social work from the University of Georgia specializing in clinical practices and health behavior.
