William Arwood

Will Arwood supports the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Continuous Improvement and Program Evaluation team within the Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Division at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Headquarters (HQ). In this role, he is responsible for the collection of feedback from stakeholders to advise leadership on user experience with the BRIC program and to provide recommendations on necessary program design adjustments to support BRIC’s continuous improvement efforts.

Arwood came to FEMA HQ from FEMA Region 4, where he served as HMA branch chief responsible for overseeing the disaster-based Hazard Mitigation Grant Program operations. He previously held positions as program specialist, and senior program specialists having supported multiple FEMA regional hazard mitigation operations since 2012.

Prior to joining FEMA, Arwood was the state National Flood Insurance Program coordinator for the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management.

Arwood holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in urban growth management from Rollins College.
