This session, which officially opens the 50th Annual Natural Hazards Workshop, is when every participant says their name and affiliation. Yes, you read that correctly! This is a five-decade Workshop tradition that originates in our mission to help build connections. Once the introductions are complete, Natural Hazards Center Director Lori Peek will discuss the history of the Workshop, provide an overview of this year’s theme, and issue a charge for deep engagement and action to participants.
