Alaina Stern

Alaina M. Stern is a social science analyst at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where she serves in the Office of Policy Development and Research, within the Division of Affordable Housing Research and Technology. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Stern holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on nonprofit and social impact management, as well as a Master of Public Policy in social policy management, both from Brandeis University. Over the past five years at HUD, Stern has worked at the intersection of building science and disaster recovery. Her diverse portfolio includes research on building technology innovations, leadership of the Disaster Knowledge Collaborative, and contributions to projects in building resilience, community planning, disaster relief, and preparedness.
