Bruce Jones

Midland
Bruce Jones began his TV/Radio career in 1976 and since then has been telling people, "If you live in the U.S. and you don't have a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather radio, you need to speak with a good psychiatrist." As a meteorologist and a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, he encourages everyone to have multiple, redundant ways to receive life-saving warnings. It's a message he has shared throughout more than thirty years in broadcasting, and the past 17 years with a weather radio manufacturer.
His interest in tornadoes began at age five, watching "The Wizard of Oz", and was nurtured thereafter by every news report of severe weather. He has degrees in radio/TV/film and meteorology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and uses his voice and experience to encourage everyone to have a plan, build a kit, and be prepared.
Like Dorothy Gale, he lives in Kansas and has a small dog. His family consists of a wife and three daughters, none of whom are wicked.
