Christopher Zobel

Christopher W. Zobel is the Robert B. Pamplin professor of Business Information Technology in the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. His primary research interests involve disaster operations and humanitarian supply chain management, with a particular focus on characterizing and quantifying multi-dimensional disaster resilience. He has served as a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the Center for Disaster Management and Risk Reduction Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany, and he has been a Co‐PI on several multi-institutional research projects funded by the National Science Foundation. Zobel has also served as an officer for a number of professional societies, including the Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management Association, the Production and Operations Management Society, the College of Humanitarian Operations and Crisis Management, and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences Section on Public Service Operations Research.
