David McEntire

David A. McEntire (PhD, Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy) is a professor at Utah Valley University, teaching emergency management, homeland security, and national security.
McEntire's research interests include emergency management theory, vulnerability reduction, community preparedness, response coordination, international disasters, terrorism, and homeland security.
McEntire has received several grants, which have allowed him to conduct research in Peru, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Australia, New Zealand, California, New York, Texas, and Utah. He has published several books, including Disaster Response and Recovery (Wiley), Introduction to Homeland Security (Wiley), Disciplines, Disasters and Emergency Management (CC Thomas), and Comparative Emergency Management (Federal Emergency Management Agency). He has also published over 160 articles, technical reports, and manuscripts.
In his spare time, McEntire enjoys detailing cars, yard work, gardening, and playing the electric guitar.
