Dewberry

Deborah Mills is a degreed Forest Engineer, and has worked for the Virginia Department of Forestry, Department of Conservation & Recreation, and Department of Emergency Management during her 31-year career with the Commonwealth of Virginia. During the past 17 years, she has worked at Dewberry Engineers supporting federal, state, and local structural hazard mitigation projects, including Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants, residential elevations and acquisitions, mitigation plan updates, and disaster recovery. She has deployed to more than 25 presidentially-declared disaster recovery operations supporting floodplain management, hazard mitigation, and public assistance. She presently supports the Federal Emergency Management Agency Building Science Program's Mitigation Assessment Team projects, technical publication updates, and training. In her free time, she spoils her cocker spaniels, gardens, quilts, attends concerts, and travels to national parks.
