Eric Kennedy

Eric Kennedy is an associate professor of disaster and emergency management at York University. His research focuses on wildfire management, and particularly fire decision-making, expertise, and knowledge production. Current projects include enhancing wildfire predictive services implementation for management agencies, supporting science/practice translation, and working to improve local government uptake of wildfire mitigation efforts. He also specializes in disaster research methods, including survey methodologies and rapid response research strategies. His lab—the Collaboration on Emergency Management, Preparedness, and Policy Research—conducts research on a variety of natural hazards facing Canada, using action research to support practitioners in preparedness efforts and decision-making.
