Jamie Albrecht

Jamie Albrecht (she/her) is a dedicated public servant, urban planner, and emergency manager. Having served in the Peace Corps (El Salvador), federal, state, and now local government, she is passionate about making people's lives easier. She is currently an Emergency Services Coordinator for the City of Berkeley's Fire Department, leading public outreach and education on disaster preparedness. She designs bold, honest, and empowering preparedness programs and outreach strategies, giving community members a sense of control and community in what is typically a scary subject. She has a Master of City and Regional Planning degree from the University of California, Berkeley. She is known for weaving together research, practice, urban planning, and emergency management, especially while writing the City's 2019 and 2024 Local Hazard Mitigation Plans. 

She lives in Oakland, California with her husband and son. They are bike, food, and park enthusiasts.
