Kate B. Maxwell is the founder of the News Go Bag project, a resource and platform to support journalists and newsrooms covering disasters and emergencies. Previously, she was the publisher and co-founder of The Mendocino Voice, a nationally recognized local online news outlet serving rural Mendocino County, California, as well as a Reynolds Journalism Institute Innovation Fellow 2023 at the University of Missouri, a John S. Knight Community Impact Fellow in 2021 and 2022 at Stanford University. Her award-winning reporting on Northern California has been featured in a variety of local and national print, online, and radio outlets.
